Dear all,
As many of you might have seen, I was part of the Eaton Canyon fire that burned down my home last Tuesday night. Although I only have a pair of sneakers, a week's worth of clothes, my partner, and my two fur buddies, I am so blessed to have everything in the midst of nothing. The outpour of support and the millions of personal messages have truly kept me going and have beautifully confirmed my faith in humanity and the work that we do to make this world a better place. Please be assured that I am safe in my parent's apartment in Downtown Los Angeles. Looks like after all these years I will be returning to Downtown LA for the foreseeable future.
That is my story. However, I know this tragedy has struck the home of many of us. I know a lot of us on this e-mail chain are also on the brink of evacuating or have already evacuated. I just posted on social media that I would like to host a collective healing/meditation session next Thursday January 16th, 2025 at 6:00pm PST. In this dire time, Southern California needs our help. For the land as well as for the people. A special focus I would like to ask for is the element of water. Not only to conjure rain, but water for healing as well. If everyone can have a bowl of water present during our time of gathering, that would be most appreciated. It does not have to be fancy. Even if it is a plastic cup with water in it, that will do.
